Age NI is the leading charity and voice of older people in Northern Ireland. Our vision is a world where we can thrive as we age, and our mission is to help people enjoy later life. Our work is centred around enabling older people to make the very best of their lives and to create a society that truly values, supports, and welcomes them.

Advice & Advocacy

Age NI’s Advice Line offers free, independent, and confidential advice to older people, their families, and carers throughout Northern Ireland. The team provides advice and advocacy on a range of issues including benefits, residential and nursing care, care at home, housing and health.
Each year we receive more than 10,000 calls.

Care Services

Day care: activities, community, friendship, connection. Supporting people to live independently and stay socially connected.

Domiciliary care: helping those who wish to remain in their own home; and supporting family carers.

Meadowbank Residential Care Home: owned and managed by AGE NI, provides excellent care for 25 older people living with Dementia.

Wellbeing support

Check-in and Chat: Launched in response to Covid-19, and supported by the Commissioner for Older People, this service provides weekly friendship calls to people over 60 who are lonely or isolated.

First Connect: one-to-one practical and emotional support for older people during difficult life transitions, e.g., bereavement or ill-health, reducing isolation, improving wellbeing, and keeping people connected.

Memory Link: Information and signposting support for older people with early diagnosis of dementia and their carers.
