Accessibility Statement for Northern Ireland Charities Together

This website is run by Northern Ireland Charities Together. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts
  • zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate most of the website using just a keyboard
  • navigate most of the website using speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)

We’ve also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

How accessible this website is

We know some parts of this website are not fully accessible:

  • The embedded facebook feed on the homepage is difficult to use with a keyboard or screen reader
  • The search facility is difficult to use for with a keyboard
  • Some images containing text do not have a text alternative  
  • The cookies consent dialog and cookie preference settings is difficult to use with a keyboard or screen reader
  • The site is not fully compatible with Windows High Contrast Mode (WHCM)
  • There are parts of the site with low colour contrast

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Northern Ireland Charities Together is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Partially conformance means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.
